Can you provide a general overview of GÜRİŞ Technology, which you established to offer digital solutions to the renewable energy sector as one of Türkiye’s largest  wind energy investors?

GÜRİŞ Technology, leveraging GÜRİŞ Holding’s extensive knowledge and experience, aiming to provide innovative digital solutions in the field of renewable energy. We develop AI-powered solutions to enhance the efficiency, security and sustainability of renewable energy projects. Primarily focusing on wind energy, we support digital transformation in various renewable energy domains by offering technologies that optimize operations and maintenance processes. Our goal is to deliver solutions that boost efficiency, reduce operational costs and promote sustainable energy production.

Could you elaborate on the solutions and services offered by GÜRİŞ Technology? In which areas of renewable energy can these solutions be applied? Do the solutions vary between internal and external applications?

At GÜRİŞ Technology, we develop a range of AI and data analytics solutions that add significant value to the energy sector. Our solutions include image processing systems for wind turbine damage detection, AI-powered models for fault prediction using vibration and acoustic analysis, predictive maintenance systems that optimize maintenance processes, and advanced data analytics solutions for energy production forecasting.

These solutions are especially vital to wind energy power plants. By streamlining turbine maintenance processes we minimize downtime and ensure continuous energy production. Our AI-driven systems enhance decision-making accuracy for operators, improving energy production processes. Furthermore, we have developed AI tools leveraging Large Language Models (LLM). While these solutions are utilized internally, they are also made available to other companies in the energy sector, facilitating driving broader industry transformation.

How are AI and data analytics technologies integrated into wind energy projects?

AI and data analytics are revolutionizing wind energy projects. Traditional maintenance and analysis methods heavily relied on manual inspections and fieldwork. However, we now employ cutting-edge AI and machine learning models to monitor turbine performance, predict potential failures in advance, and optimize maintenance processes.

For example, through our groundbreaking WTIP project, we utilize image processing technologies capable of scanning wind turbine blades using drones and high-resolution cameras to detect damages. Additionally, in preventive maintenance, we collect data through vibration sensors to anticipate anomalies in turbine motors or gearboxes using AI algorithms. This predictive approach ensures maintenance teams intervene only when necessary, reducing unnecessary downtime and costs.

Moreover, with our BladeScan project, we are developing a pioneering autonomous robotic solution to analyze the internal structure of wind turbine blades. BladeScan employs advanced sensors and image processing technologies to meticulously scan the inner surfaces of turbine blades, identifying cracks and structural damage. This innovative approach enables early detection of internal blade damage, significantly reducing maintenance costs.

What roles do these solutions play in the wind energy sector, and what benefits do they offer?

GÜRİŞ Technology’s AI-driven solutions undertake several critical roles in the wind energy sector. Primarily, we provide proactive maintenance solutions to extend turbine lifespan. By utilizing acoustic and vibration analyses, we can detect even the smallest anomalies in systems, preventing major failures. Also, our AI based drone inspection program, WTIP, helps our clients to secure their blades and increase its efficiency. Regular blade inspection takes more time, increasing the downtime and production loss. As GÜRİŞ Technology, we started our robotics products to inspect the inside of blades. By our both products we secure and guarantee the blades well-being. 

Furthermore, our energy production forecasting systems offer more reliable predictions to grid operators, helping balance energy supply and demand. By enhancing turbine operational efficiency, we minimize energy losses and maximize production. As a result, our solutions contribute to shortening the return on investment for wind energy projects and reducing operational costs.

Our solutions have been implemented in various wind energy power plants both domestically and internationally. While our systems are actively used in GÜRİŞ Holding’s own plants, they have also attracted significant interest from other energy companies.

For example, our image-processing-based turbine blade inspection system is being utilized in several major wind farms in Europe, including projects in Kosovo and Ukraine, is receiving highly positive feedback.

In Türkiye, we have successfully deployed our predictive maintenance and energy production forecasting models in GÜRİŞ Holding’s wind farms. These projects have allowed our technology to prove its effectiveness in real-world operational conditions.

Are your products user-friendly? Do they require training?

Our solutions are designed with user-friendly interfaces and ease of use in mind. Operators can efficiently conduct energy production forecasts, maintenance planning, and fault detection analysis using our systems.

However, for some advanced analytical tools, we provide short-term training to ensure optimal utilization. These training sessions help plant operators maximize system efficiency and make more informed decisions.

Can you share GÜRİŞ Technology’s future goals?

At GÜRİŞ Technology, our goal is to contribute to the renewable energy sector not only in Türkiye but also on a global scale. We aim to expand into the European and Middle Eastern markets, establishing ourselves as a technology provider in the renewable energy sector, particularly in wind energy.

Octopus Energy Announces China Joint Venture with PCG Power to Trade Renewable Energy

London / Beijing, 30 January 2026 – Octopus Energy Group has announced a new joint venture with China-based PCG Power to trade renewable electricity in China, the world’s largest clean energy market.

According to the companies’ statement, the newly established entity, Bitong Energy, will operate in China’s rapidly expanding spot power markets, where electricity is traded in real time.

China’s electricity consumption is forecast to grow by approximately one-third over the next five years. Regulatory mandates require at least 10% of electricity to be traded through spot markets by the end of this year.

The joint venture aims to trade up to 140 TWh of renewable electricity annually by 2030. The companies stated that this could generate approximately £50 million in annual profits, with half expected to flow back to the UK.

Bitong Energy will initially launch operations in Guangdong province and expand nationally as additional regional spot markets become operational.

Octopus Energy Founder and CEO Greg Jackson stated that China’s investments in solar, wind and battery technologies have contributed to lower costs. PCG Power Chairman and CEO Li Wenxuan said the partnership is expected to combine Octopus’ technology with PCG’s local market expertise in the Commercial & Industrial renewable energy sector.

The announcement follows Octopus Energy’s previous international partnerships in clean technology, including software deployment and electric vehicle integration initiatives.
