The Mahlsdorf wind farm in Brandenburg, Germany, has been commissioned with a total capacity of 68 MW. The project features Nordex N175/6.X turbines combined with high hybrid towers, representing a new application approach for medium wind sites.

The Mahlsdorf wind farm has been commissioned on schedule through a collaboration between Nordex Group and UKA Group.

The project consists of 10 units of Nordex N175/6.X turbines, each with a rated capacity of 6.8 MW, reaching a total installed capacity of 68 MW. The turbines are part of Nordex’s Delta4000 platform and are designed to optimize energy yield and reduce generation costs, particularly at sites with moderate wind conditions.

Hybrid tower application

The turbines are installed on 179-meter hybrid towers, allowing access to stronger and more stable wind flows at higher altitudes, which supports improved energy performance.

The Mahlsdorf project is described as the first wind farm where this turbine model is deployed in combination with this high hybrid tower configuration.

Equivalent supply for 52,000 households

The wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity annually to supply approximately 52,000 three-person households, contributing to regional energy supply security and COâ‚‚ emission reduction.

Project scope

UKA focused on improving economic efficiency through optimized site layout and turbine selection. Nordex was responsible not only for turbine and tower supply but also for construction and installation activities.

Community contribution mechanism

Under German regulations, wind farm operators provide financial contributions to local municipalities based on installed capacity and electricity generation.

Additionally, voluntary participation models allow local communities to benefit from electricity generation through revenue-sharing mechanisms.

Long-term cooperation

The Mahlsdorf wind farm is part of a broader project pipeline jointly developed by UKA and Nordex in Germany. Coordination across development, engineering, and construction phases was a key factor in the project’s timely completion.
